Metagora Partners Group II, Paris — mutual review after 6 months of activities
| | Following the advancement of each activity | The second meeting of the Metagora Partners Group was convened in Paris on 23-25 August. After six months of activities, the Metagora partners were informed on the development, achievements and challenges of the project since its starting in February 2004. The meeting served in particular- to review the advancement of each specific pilot activity;
- to ensure that the various project's activities are coherently interlinking and moving towards the common project's goals, the formulation of global lessons and relevant guidelines;
- to define the framework, method of work and tentative schedule for the production of the project's expected outcomes;
- to outline a set of key issues in view of an inter-agency meeting aiming at starting the work on the platform for adoption of internationally agreed indicators of governance;
- to review the working schedule for the next months.
In the presentation of each of the projects activities, the attendants could take notice of the impressive participatory processes launched in most of the project activities. In the course of the | | Formulating the stakeholders' concerns | first six months, some 350 stakeholders had been involved in workshops, meetings and bilateral consultations organized by PIOs. Furthermore, beyond the circle of members of MPG, and thanks to them, a broad Metagora community is maturating and expanding, including today: several members of the staff and boards of PIOs; some 50 experts working in local implementing teams established by PIOs; some 80 stakeholders involved in local Metagora advisory bodies and steering committees; and a non estimated number of experts and staff of the 15 National Statistical Institutes implementing actions within the project in francophone Africa, the Andean Community and Palestine.
