Case Study - Philippines Metagora Pilot Project

CHAPTER 9: DATA DISSEMINATION

Dissemination of the results of the PhilMetagora study was accomplished through several presentations, including a presentation to the Statistics Committee under the Regional Development Council in Region 1, a presentation to the Regional Social Development Committee of the Regional Development Council in Region 1, and a presentation of the findings of the study to the NSCB Board members. In addition, a Web page was created to distribute the main findings of the study (Excerpts from the 2005 Pilot Study on the Diagnosis of Indigenous People's Rights to Ancestral Domains in the Philippines), and a FactSheet was distributed by the NSCB.

Information on the approach taken by the PhilMetagora project was also disseminated. The Centre for Comparative and Public Law at the University of Hong Kong hosted Anita Chauhan to discuss the "Metagora Philippine Pilot Study on Rights of Indigenous Peoples: A Participatory and Bottom up Approach Putting Together Human Rights and Statistics."

The results of the study were distributed to the IPs who were included in the sample population. Further information on the IPs' use of the study results is given in Section 10.2 of this Case Study.
